Drug Cartel violence escalate in Mexico near border

HOUSTON – A recent increase along the border on both sides of the US-Mexico border has caused people in border states (Mostly Arizona,Texas,California) to call for funding for an increase in security along the border. Between 2007 and 2008,Violence has doubled along the border on both sides. In Texas, Houston Mayor Bill White (D) is also looking into the problem,as well as both Texas Senators Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R) and John Coryn (R)

Obama wants to increase school day and school year.

WASHINGTON – While comparing himself and our times to FDR (Fmr. Pres Franklin D. Roosevelt) and JFK (Fmr. Pres John F Kennedy), Pres. Obama stated his Education Plan,which includes:

• Rewarding good teachers
• Improving Student Health
• Increasing Standards for higher test scores
• Push more funding for Pres. Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act
• "I know longer school days and school years are not wildly popular ideas," Obama said. "But the challenges of a new century demand more time in the classroom."

  Obama's final reform initiative focused on higher education. Among other things, the president promised to boost college access by raising the maximum Pell Grant award to $5,550 a year and indexing it above inflation. He also promised to push for a $2,500 a year tuition tax credit for students from working families.

WASHINGTON – Today, Pres Obama signed an executive order lifting  a ban that has certain limitations on Stem cell research signed in 2001 by then-President Bush. Christians and others against stem cell research are furious and calling it a disgrace of human life.
