Clinton v. Cheney

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Dick CheneyWASHINGTON – Secy of State Hillary Clinton while debating on what to do with the Bush Admin’s policy on torture called Cheney an unreliable source after he told FOX News that the Obama Admin should release docs that torture has had benefits such as a failed plot for a terrorist attack in Los Angeles. They are calling for Bush Admin officials to take responsibility and face court as the great ACLU points out torture to a TERRORIST is illegal?

WASHINGTON - President George W. Bush gave his final farewell speech to the nation. He gave his farewell speech in front of cabinet members, family members, and the media in the East Room of the White House. He reflected his years in the White House from 9/11 to the Iraq War. He reflected on the new freedoms Iraqis have now and the overthrow of Taliban rule in Afghanistan. He said he would do somethings differently throughout his presidency. He also thanked those who have fought for our country in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Despite record low job approval ratings, most Americans think George W. Bush is a good person. And as he prepares to leave the presidency, more than twice as many people think history will be cruel to Bush as think history will be kind.

According to a FOX News poll taken during Bush's final full week in office, 34 percent of Americans say they approve of the job he is doing and 58 percent disapprove — his highest positive rating since December of 2007.

What Cheney thinks about our Government.

WASHINGTON - Outgoing-VP Dick Cheney sounds off about this year's political figures in an interview today.

Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) Cheney said the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee doesn't have the lock on the party's presidential nomination in four years. "She'll have to go out and earn it just as anybody else would have to."

VP-elect Joe Biden (D-DE) Cheney said he doesn't think Biden will be as influential in the Obama administration as Cheney was in the Bush administration. And -- big surprise -- he doesn't agree with Biden's description of Cheney as "the most dangerous vice president we've had probably in American history."

110th U.S. Congress (D-Majority) Lawmakers, Cheney said, "failed" to address the economic threat facing the U.S. auto industry, forcing the White House to come through with $17.4 billion in emergency loans.

Him & Outgoing Pres-George W. Bush (R) On the use of executive power: Cheney offered no apologies for the Bush administration's broad -- and controversial -- use of such powers, saying the move was necessary in the fight against terrorism. "If you think about what Abraham Lincoln did during the Civil War, what FDR did during World War II. They went far beyond anything we've done in a global war on terror," he said.

On Osama bin Laden: Cheney said he thinks bin Laden is still alive, but has doubts about whether he's still in charge of al-Qaida. "He's been holed up in a way where he's not even been communicating and there are questions about whether or not he's even running the operation," he said.

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT): Cheney said he doesn't regret cursing at Leahy on the Senate floor in June 2004. "I thought he merited it at the time," Cheney said, laughing at the memory.

Fmr. Secy of Defense Donald Rumsfeld (R): Cheney said he didn't agree with President George W. Bush's decision to fire Rumsfeld as defense secretary in his second term. "It wasn't my decision to make," Cheney said. "The president doesn't always take my advice.

The Bush Legacy :Approval Ratings and the economy.

WASHINGTON -
Pres. Bush gave an interview to FOX News to talk about his legacy. Bush said he would try to save it with the economy and promoting free trade. He said he DOES NOT care about his approval ratings because of the economy and he's the current President. He said he didn't 'compromise' his soul to become the 'popular' President. Bush's current approval rating is 26%. Obama's current favorable rating is (official from Real Clear Politics) is 56%. The current Democratically controlled Congress Approval Rating is 18%. It seems more people hate the Democrats' choices and control in Congress than George W. Bush.

Gas Now less than $2/gallon.

NEW YORK - Gas is starting to settle at less than $2 /gallon while the economy's going crazy. Everyone (liberals) keep thinking Obama did this. Truth is,he didn't. He's not even in office yet,and you think he lowered the gas prices? Truth is,we made it lower...the businesses made it lower...It's all due to this economic crisis, people. If anybody deserves slight thanks,I guess it's our outgoing-current President George W. Bush. He may have a bad rep..but here's what he did last Summer:

  • set up a 14-month withdrawal date for troops, even though Obama said he'd bring home the troops already, June-July 2008.
  • Tried to find a solution to the economic crisis,September 2008
I'm not saying he's the worst or the best, but remember this:

  • Congress (both Senate and House) have been controlled by DEMOCRATS since 2006.
  • Congress passes laws and decides what goes on in the country.
I'm not trying to say Bush was the worst president,He would've been a better president..if:
  • He made his speeches a little better , like Obama's.
  • Worked just a little bit more with the Democratic Congress
Anyway,Obama didn't lower gas prices, okay? He didn't have ANYTHING to do with gas prices. All he has to do on Jan. 21 is fix this economy.
In 2010,The GOP will hopefully revive from the ashes and take control of Congress.
In 2012,Hopefully a new start........if this start fails....like Carter ...
